Awesome. Just what I would expect from a caver.

Very cool. My claustrophobia would never allow me to get such a shot :)

My god that was really dangerous. About a week later the hole had collapsed, if I remember correctly.

Crazy bloke whoever's in there!! But it makes for a fascinating photo... I love the contrast between the dark and the light too.

The Story - This shot was taken in December or so of '98. I was living up in Breckenridge, CO with fellow blogger Matt (pictured.) We had about four feet of snow in our yard ans so immediately began tunneling. Those are my feet and you can see one of the little holes I had used to hold my flashlight.

We used this shot as the cover art for the cd we made up there.

Mark - True...there is a trend developing on this blog of me crawling into dark tunnels. Apparently it's just what I do.

Steph - Clearly I'm just not claustrophobic. I concidered it "cozy." ;)

Simon - You've got your personalities mixed here. It's far more likely that Matt would be making me announce their secret relationship to earn my freedom.

Matt - I still disagree with you about the danger. It was four feet of snow and we removed a two foot tunnel. I'll stand by my contention that two feet of snow collapsing on you wouldn't trap you...or hurt you in any way. Simon, as our resident snow expert...what's your take on this?

Everyone Else - Thanks for visiting and commenting.

That is awesome! What a great shot and a great memory! I love it.

I am too claustrophobic for that, but here in North Texas, I don't have to worry much about digging through the snow!

Well this looks very appealing this time of year!. Great shot!

Caver huh? You will have to share some of your exploits.

Take care.

mike, he already did.

Nice pic, Moksha. It does look more dangerous than the explanation details. I guess a collapse of two feet of snow wouldn't kill ya, but it was a good idea to have an assistant handy to dig you out, just in case...
