Very nice images. Norah is stopping to smell the... well, flowers, but if they were roses she'd do the same thing.

Lovely lovely picture. Anne Gedes has got nothing on you.

I hope I'll have a baby girl in the future, to revel in all the girly stuff I'll get away with. Sure, I can take a pic of my boy with flowers but... it's just not the same. I'd rather keep that for a potential daughter.

Oh, and hey: I love the picture's high contrast. Very classy.

Norah is clearly a beautiful baby girl--how wonderfully your photographs capture her curiousity! And don't worry, you may be from the other side of the state (I assume STL?) but I will NOT hold it against you, you probably didn't know it was the wrong side (giggle). Happy WW

That is so cute. Children know how to take the time to stop and smell the flowers!

The Truth Behind the Picture - First of all, both these pictures were taken by my lovely wife. I snapped a few shots of the bloom and then Moonshot tried her hand at it and took by far the best picture. Color me defeated.

The second shot is a bit more stanged than it appears. I am standing just off camera left, holding Norah's face torward the flower. I expected her to grin or look amused....or something. What I was not prepared for was a full on headbutt. Now, thankfully, Moonshot snapped the shutter at such a moment that it appears peacesful and delicate. However, a millisecond later, the pollen from the flower was smeared through her hair (it stains the skin by the way) and the flower's stamins were destroyed. Ah...the power of illusion.

Mark - Given her desire to head butt flowers...I'm going to steer clear of anything with thorns for a while ;)

Steph - Thanks. I like the second one better as well...but then...I'm biased.

Anna - Appriciate the complements. And I assure you the joy of squeezing those cheeks is even better than you're imagining. 'm very lucky to be able to do so on a daily basis.

Emilie - Xavier would look great with flowers. I know it's easier to say this as the parent of a little girl...but I say throw that gender stuff out the window. Flowers are pretty and your son is adorable...I say join 'em up! But...I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on that girl. I totally get the desire to collect the whole set of sexes ;)

Wordless Wednesday Folks - Thank you so much for swinging by my site. I appriciate the kind words. And Norah appriciates the complements.

I was thinking it pretty unusual for a kiddo under 1 to even know that you could just smell a flower, rather than eat it, to find out about it. TALTAP's mom came in from the garden one day and I had a clue that she might have been smelling the lilies outside, since she had yellow pollen all over her nose. She did quite a bit of scrubbing and still there was evidence left over.

Glad to hear little girls are just as destructive as little boys at that age.

"NOOOOOOOO!" Seymour Krelboyne yells as Norah inches ever closer to the strong grip of the Venus Fly Trap

I came back to look at these....and I love the name Nora....it is very feminine. :) Tell your wife these are great (and there are worse things than being beat by your wife)! And I know that you are grateful everyday for Noras wonderful cheeks! Take care.

"Ahhh.... Inhaling the pheromones from this Earth flower will bestow the temporary strength I will need to drain the spinal nectar from my terrestrial hosts. Once that is complete, I need only send the gamma brain pattern to the orbiting assault fleet and this planet will be assimmilated!"

The shot of the blossom that's almost as big as her head is enchanting. Lovely girl, the size of the flower makes her look like a tiny garden fairy.

I love the pictures, they are really good. I mean "really, really good."

A small child always makes a picture a keeper (well, almost always).
