Set Moksha's Nonsense to Music

My blog pal Mark put out an interesting post. He copied it from one of his friends and now I’m going to copy it from him…it is indeed a world wide web. I find this interesting because I still labor under the college-age assumption that a person’s musical taste can tell you a lot about them. Maybe, maybe not…but it’s fun to think so and certainly a lot less problematic than other criteria. So…here’ the game:

Put your music player on shuffle.Press forward for each question.Use the song title as the answer to the question. No cheating! Who cares if it doesn’t make sense. (And it doesn’t.)

Nice list. I particularly liked:

"What does everyone else think my current theme song is?
The Medication is Wearing Off - Eels"

I'm laughing like a hermaphroditic hyena.

Simon - There were several songs that popped up on the random that made me particularly happy to include. Dead Horse Trampoline was one of them. You can here the whole gruesome tale on his myspace page.

Jet - I know exactly the giggle you're talking about. You make the same giggle everytime Walker: Texas Ranger comes on.

Mark - Yeah, I liked that one too. What made it even funnier to me is that I appeared to think my theme some was this beautiful Indian meditative song. It's the sort of thing I would like to believe...but I think the Eels suits me better ;)

Moksha, Yours was way cooler than mine. It actually had a "feel" to it if that's possible. We have a lot of the same musical tastes. I tried to like Nick Cave & BS though, and I couldn't. I rilly liked the same ones Jet and Mark mentioned. But I just laughed my normal laugh except without the snort. (Shhh.)
Sorry I keep coming here after everyone else and making you feel like you have to write something for me... You love it, I know.

Linda - I don't mind coming back for another comment...just inflates my comment number (and I'm vain enough to care about that)

Nick Cave took a while to grow on me. I kept having him recommended to me and I kept thinking the referrer was stupid. Finally gave in and bought his Abattior Blues / Lyre of Orpheus and slowly fell in love. The Wild Rose I got on his Best Of cd and it just creeps me out in a beautiful way.

So, once I get back to you from way back when we started discussing Pandora and you get a better idea of my taste, you can lmk if I should give him another listen. Or are you saying that now? I will get back to you soon, my apologies. I just know you've been losing sleep ;-)
Thanks for coming back (here)for me. If I ever get stranded on a deserted island, I'm holding out for you :-)

I looooove finding out what other people are listening to, or what they like. Especially if I share at least some of them. I think nowadays, looking at what is on someone's iPod (or whatever) can tell you at least a little bit about them, particularly how well-rounded they are. I hate looking at someone's iPod and it's all pop crap (not that there's anything WRONG with that)... it's kind of the equivalent of looking at someone's record collection and there's nothing but the Eagles, Bob Seger, ZZTop, .38 Special, etc. The old standards.

I was very surprised to find that my GQ-looking 23 year-old co-worker has a ton of old soul albums on his iPod. I SO had him pegged for a Christina Aguilera fan.

So I'm doing this list now - but I keep listening to my songs instead of skipping ahead, so it will take some time. Will post it soon :-)
