Project Yellow (With Lemon)

Not much of a story here. Norah, Moonshot and I met my brother Jet at a local Mexican Restaurant last night. Jet and I dominated the conversation with discussions of investment property (we're both entering the market as cluelessly as babes, and tend to obscess a bit) and I got strange looks by pointing my camera at random yellow objects on or near our table.

To see the "real" Project Yellow photos, jump over to Anna's site. You can also take a look at other folks who are on the look out for yellow and maybe take part.

Now that's using that new digital camera!

Great shot, and I feel your pain on the strange looks. Most of the time, getting the best photos means doing something with your camera that gets you noticed (because if everybody did it, then pictures like this wouldn't stand out). If it takes lying down on the ground or climbing up into a tree to get the shot, we do it. Sure, we look like freaks to average Society members, but look out the photos we get (sometimes).

Wedges of lemon only leave me with fond memories of foisting them on both boys. They're suckers for the citrus, and seem to enjoy, in some sort of masochistic way, the bitterness that turns their faces into comical sour expressions. Wee Tavish still enjoys an occasional wedge, and even goes so far as to request capfuls of the lemon juice we have in the fridge. Fun times.

(Oh yeah... good shot too.)

What a great shot, this seems so ordinary to people, yeah, we get strange looks all the time, but we have more fun!

Mark - Oh, I get a sick enjoyment from the strange looks. My wife rolls her eyes (always fun) and I like wondering what the others around me think I'm doing. I mean, if I didn't occasionally try to take pictures and didn't know folks who engaged in this odd behavior, I don't know what I would assume if I saw a guy pointing a camera two inches from a mustard bottle or a plastic cup of iced tea.

Simon - Norah occasionally gets her hands on a lemon wedge. She winces and then goes back for more. This particular wedge went to Jet.

Chris and Michelle - Thanks for swinging by. I was really happy with how this one turned out. A simple image that we see all the time, but I liked the color contrast and the angles.

I saw your image load and thought that reminds me of my new header on my blog. I thought red looked great with yellow so I changed it. ;) I love that you got strange looks...now when I see stuff like that my first thought is "I wonder what their blog address is!"

Thanks for a great addition to the Project and it seems you are having a lot of fun with it! YAY!
