Moksha the Dancing Alien

As many of you know, I've been spending some time in an alien suit of late. For those of you who don't know that...perhaps I should explain.

My brother and I own a loan store here in the St. Louis area. We have a cute little alien mascot we use in our advertising and in our store decore. Recently, we opted to take it to the next level to capture some of the excellent traffic flow we have in front of our store...mascot suit!!

As often as time allows, I zip over to the store and suit up to dance by the roadside, wave to kids and do a jig for folks on cell phones who pretend to be far too busy to notice me as they sit at the light. "Really? You don't notice the six and a half foot tall alien dancing next to your car...perhaps you should surrender your license, sir."

At any rate, here is the proof that those who knew about this have been asking for...and the images that those who had no idea will wish you could forget ;)

Do you know what would be awesome? If you decided to dress up for the day normally, yet were also sporting those excellent Alien shoes. I love those shoes. Good times.

Si - I'll see if I can't get that shot for you next time I'm up there. The shoes are actually not that uncomfortable. Difficult to walk in, sure...but comfy. My biggest complaints are the overall heat of the thing and the three-fingered gloves. They did accurately recreated our mascot...but I would have settled for less accuracy if it meant I had a place for each digit.

Fun! Hey, I count 4 digits, though... just no opposable thumbs.

That's funny, I always thought Aliens from outer space would wear some really techno outfit. Of course, however, if you're gonna travel that many light years, might as well wear some comfortable boxers. ;)

The dance did it for me. Just. Wow.

You are quite the alien, sir. You're brother was laughing at you, not with you.

Mark you are correct: I was laughing at him, in fact I am laughing right now...at him.
It is a blast to be in the suit, no one knows who are you.

Emilie - Technically, you are correct about the fingers...but since the hand beneath the glove does have a thumb, my complaint stands ;)

And...interesting story about his shorts. They are actually basketball shorts. Seems the aliens are fans of Michael Jordan. They caught the NBA broadcasts and assumed they were viewing some sort of anti-gravity display. True story.

Mark and Jet - Maybe so, but the alien is just as silly when Jet is in there...so I assume (despite his claim otherwise) that Jet is laughing as a fellow mascot. ANd yes, one of the real joys in there is that your SUPPOSED to act like a goof.

Okay, I actually SAW this guy up in Florissant on Lindbergh... was that you Moksha???? I so wanted to stop but we were on our way somewhere... should I have stopped and said hi?

Susan - Maybe. My brother has been out there in it, I've been out there in it, and recently we hired a guy to come in and dance around in it. Lately, the odds are pretty good that it's our young employee. But he's a nice guy, I've seen him swing with kids and moonwalk. So feel free to go on up to him...he'd be happy to cut a rug with ya
