Captions are so hard when there's nobody in the picture.
Ah well, I really like the contrast in that first one between the newly-minted look of the store front and the faded Coke on brick. There are fewer and fewer of those around these days to be seen.
I took these shots on Sunday. We strolled about in Old Town St. Charles for a few hours and I tried to practice my new photo hobby. I'm trying to use Wordless Wednesday as incentive to get out and take pictures of something other than Norah. And while I'm not hugely thrilled with these shots...I'll get there.
And thanks to everyone for commenting.
Mark - I probably would have walked right by that old Coke ad had it not been for your similar pictures. I thought, "I'll try to get a good picture...and worst case scenario...I'll just send it to Mark since he likes this sort of thing.
Simon - I'll try to give you a bit more to work with next week.
I love our Main Street for just that reason. Quite a few of these old river town buildings have been redone in recent years. This one was just completed a few months ago and I'm happy to see they left the old paint on the side.
Jet - No kick-backs yet...but I expect the royalties should start rolling in any day now...once the big wigs down in Atlanta realize what a marketing force is the Impish Gren.
Moksha Gren is the ramble-prone maestro of this symphony of ill-formed sentences and self-absorbed ranting. Despite what you may read here…he’s really a nice guy.

Love the pics, happy WW.
Interesting shots! I like to get random photos from around our city too! Cheers!
Hey! Old advertisement painted on brick. I love these. I have a small collection of them myself, and I've put some on my blog in the past.
I liked the wrought-iron fence pic, too. Nice leading the viewer into the photo.
I absolutely LOVE that street shot!
*sigh*

All of a sudden I want a coke. Are you getting a little kick back from Coca-Cola?

Oh that is so cool and good shots too.
Nice area. I love it when the refurbishing of a downtown doesn't completely erase the area's history.
Happy WW!
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.
